Format write protected pendrive/usb flash drive

Write protection secure your disk security to read only mode. prevent disk from changes any content in the disk. Such as modify/delete or change any files stored in write protected disk.

If you faced with this problem, you are in the right place to get solution.

“The operation did not complete because the media is write protected”

“The disk is write protected”

“Windows was unable to complete this format”

“The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable”

“You are unable to add, delete, copy or save anything in your SD card”

“Read or Write error on SD card' that indicates it cannot read from the device”

Bear in mind that, there is no guarantee that these tricks will work for you

Follow these methods to solve your problem.

Method 1: “Physical Lock”

Check your SD card/hdd/pendrive if any physical write protection button/switch exist or not.

If it turned on. Turn off switch to remove write protection.

If this is not for you then try 2nd method---

Method 2: “Using regedit.exe”

Press windows + R key simultaneously to open run dialogue box.

Write down “regedit’ and press ok button to run registry editor.

In registry editor find the path/destination

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Currentcontrolset\control\StorageDevicePolicies

In the right panel double click the “WriteProtect” and set hexadecimal value to 0

Close registry editor.

If you can’t find the key “StorageDevicePolicies”
Follow this:

Create a new sub key with name “StorageDevicePolicies” under control key.

In the right panel of “StorageDevicePolicies” create a DWORD(32-bit) value {if your system is 32 bit} or DWORD(64-bit) value {if your system is 64 bit} with name “WriteProtect”

Double click the write protect and set hexadecimal value to 0

Close registry editor.

Eject your external drive/hdd/mmc/sd card.

Restart your computer in safe mode.

Place your usb/removable media device and format it with exFAT file system. Your write protection will be removed.

If this is not for you then try next method---

Method 3: “Command Line (Diskpart Utility)”

Press windows + R key simultaneously to open run dialogue box.

Write down “cmd” and press ok button to run command prompt.

In Command Line use command from below without quotes.

Ø Type “diskpart” and press enter. (Diskpart session will start)

Ø Type “list disk” and press enter. (All your disk will be listed with serial number).

Ø Type “select disk n” and press enter. (Replace n with your disk number).

Ø Type “clean” and press enter. (This command will erase your selected disk).

Ø Type “create partition primary” and press enter.

Ø Type “active” and press enter.

Ø Type “select partition 1” and press enter.

Ø Type “format fs=ntfs” and press enter. (You can quick format by “format fs=ntfs quick” this command), This will format your disk and remove write protection.

If this is not for you then try next method---

Method 4: “Third party Utility Software”

If you failed with method 1 to method3 your device has corrupted or contain bad sector.

You may try some partition tool to check and repair the possible errors.

Finally: If method1 to method4 don't work for you bear in mind that your disk is physically damaged. If disk sectors are physically damaged, you won't repair this disk.

Step-1: At First Click on Start Menu in Windows and Go to Settings

Step-2: Now click on Ease of Access option from Setting Menu.

Step-3: A new window will open. Now click on Keyboard option from the left side.

How to Find the Mac Address Of Computer

MAC Address is the specific identification of a electronic devices.
Media Access Control (MAC) address is possessed with up to 12 character (e.g ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff) address. Generally MAC address assigned to every internet connected devices which identified a device when connected with a specific network connection.

There are many ways to find your Computer/PC MAC address. In this tutorial i will show you different method of, How to Find the Mac Address Of Computer.

Method 1: Using Command Prompt(cmd.exe)

This is one of the best way of How to Find the Mac Address Of Computer. Press Windows "START" button from keyboard or click the start menu icon from left-bottom side of desktop.

In the Start Menu type "cmd" or "cmd.exe"(Without quotes).
One program will appear in top search result with name "cmd" or "windows command processor".

Now click to "cmd" to run the Command prompt or just press the enter button.

After run the command prompt type this code in command panel: ipconfig /all
And press Enter.

This will reply with all information about your all of network connected. There is a one line with name "physical Address" which is your computer or network device MAC Address.

If there are more than one internet connection established this will show those connection information in command panel.

There is one another command line code for get MAC Address of
your pc which is getmac /v /fo list
Which output is show the same information about your MAC Address.

Method 2: General Method

This is the easy way to find out the MAC Address of your network device or your pc.

Look at the "Network Icon" at the notification area. Click the network icon to see the list of connected networks. Then Select "Open Network and Sharing Center".

Network and Sharing center is the main location where you can view, create or modify any network connection.

Now you will see the connected network in the display panel.

If you connected with an ethernet broadband cable select the "Local Area Connection".

Select connection name to see the connection status.

In the connection status panel you will see connection type, uptime, LAN speed, And data sent and receive information.

Now click the "Details" button to see the all information about selected connection.

In the Network Connetion Details panel you will see a lot of information about your connection.

Here you will see "Physical Address" Which is your MAC Address. Generally a MAC address is combined up to six pair character. It contain BINARY, DECIMAL and HEXADECIMAL character. In the panel my physical address is "00-0B-CD-30-D4-E9" Its my device MAC Address.

2. Remove or Uninstall unused Old Programme:

If you have a lot of installed software in your computer It will cause bad effect in your computer. More software installed means more space from your System Drive is used by programmes. So, it may slow down to running any programme in your computer. So try to remain clean your System Drive and uninstall unused programme and software.

To uninstall programme Go to Start Menu and open Control Panel.

Now click on Uninstall a Programme.

Now you will see the list of your installed software and programme.

Now select the programme which you want to uninstall and double click on it. The app will be uninstalled from your computer.

Sometimes You copy an entire CD or DVD to your computer. Your computer system creates a copy all the files of CD/DVD to a one compressed file with .bin extension. This .bin extension mean these file types are in binary formats. There is a few programs that run or open the .bin files. Most of the programs doesn’t have ability to use or open .bin files. So you have to convert .bin files to .iso format file for access your compressed files.

Install Power ISO:

After download this file open the downloaded file and an installation wizard will appear. Then install the tool in your PC.

Launch this tool:

After completing of installation of Power ISO, launch the Power ISO software.

Open Convert Menu:

In the Power ISO panel look at the menubar and select “Tools” menu. After Selection of this menu a dropdown sub-menu will flow down.

Open source file:

In the dropdown submenu panel select “convert” menu. A convert dialogue box will appear. Then click on “Source file” icon to choose the bin file.

Locate BIN file:

After click this icon a explorer windows will open. Select the destination where you locate your bin files that, which you want to convert into an ISO format file. After locate your bin file then select your bin file. Then Click on “Open” button

Choose destination file type:

There are three radio button with iso, bin and daa. Select the iso radio button to convert your BIN file to ISO format file.

Select destination:

Choose a destination path where you want to save your converted ISO format file. After Click on “OK” button your BIN file will be converted to an ISO format file and save to your located destination path.
